Pay-Per-Display
Pay-Per-Display is a term used by PlanetEdu describing how charges are incurred by the advertiser. It also depicts the order in which advertisements are displayed on a search results page. An advertiser is charged an amount assigned to a keyword bid when, and only when, a user clicks on the advertisement that corresponds to that keyword bid and the advertiser's listing page and/or promotional page is displayed.
Pay-Per-Display advertisements include program listings (Sponsored Search Results) and banner and button ads.
Sponsored Search Results
Sponsored Search Results are Pay-Per-Display advertisements served in the search result pages and are positioned above any and all other non-paid program listings. Ranking is determined by the advertiser's keyword bid against other competing keyword bids. All Sponsored Search Results point to a listing display page when a user clicks on them from a search results page and are charged to the advertiser on a per display basis.
Banner and Button Ads
Banners and buttons are image advertisements served on each search results page and among the ten category pages. When clicked, banner and button ads point to a promotional page created by the advertiser. Banners (468x60 images) are served one per category page and search results page. Buttons (120x60 images) are served three per category page and search results page. Free banner and button ads are displayed randomly throughout the search results pages (by category) where space is available. The ranking of paid banner and button ads within the search results pages is determined by the advertiser's keyword bid against other competing keyword bids. Bidding on banner and button ads within the category pages is based solely on placement and not keyword. Advertiser's who choose the Pay-Per-Display option for banner and button ads will be charged when a user clicks on their image prompting the display of their promotional page. Pay-For-Results
Pay-For-Results is a term used by PlanetEdu to describe the value of its Pay-Per-Display advertisements. The advertiser is only charged when their listing and/or promotional page is displayed when a user clicks on a listing, banner, or button that exactly matches the keyword that was bid on by the advertiser. PlanetEdu does not charge CPM (Cost Per Impression) or fixed rates, with PlanetEdu, you only Pay-For-Results.
Display
The term display refers to a program listing page or promotional page that is shown when a user clicks on an advertisement from a search results, category page or home page.
Keyword Bidding
Users find programs on PlanetEdu by keyword search. All Pay-Per-Display advertisements are served on a keyword bidding system. Advertisers assign keywords to their ads and bid a specific dollar amount (Minimum $0.05) to be charged on a per display basis. Ranking is determined by the advertiser's keyword bid against other competing keyword bids.
Search Result Pages
All user search inquiries are delivered on search result pages. Both Sponsored Search Results and Related Search Results are served on these search result pages, along with banner and button ads.
Category Pages
PlanetEdu's Category Pages are portal pages for each educational category. Each category page contains a description of the types of programs a user will find in that category. Users can search for programs in the category (as well as other categories by selecting a new category from the drop-down menu) at the top of the page. PlanetEdu Picks are also displayed on each category portal page.

Keyword(s)
Keyword(s) refers to a word or phrase that a user enters into a search box to find a program on PlanetEdu. Advertisers assign keywords to advertisements and bid a specific dollar amount to be charged on a per display basis.

Bidding Tips
The Bidding Tips tools provides helpful hints to manage your keyword bids to maintain optimum positioning for your Pay-Per-Display advertisements.
Animated Gif File
An animated gif is a image file with a series of graphic images overlapping each other. Each image varies slightly from the other creating the illusion of movement. PlanetEdu accepts animated gif files for its banner and button ads. Please see, the specifications for banner and button ads.
PlanetEdu Picks
PlanetEdu Picks are featured listings on our Category pages. The positions are awarded to the top five listings with the most active Sponsored Search Results in each category. PlanetEdu Picks are refreshed every 24 hours. PlanetEdu does not charge its advertisers for the displays generated while featured in the PlanetEdu Picks.
New on PlanetEdu
The New on PlanetEdu section features programs on the PlanetEdu home page. PlanetEdu awards its advertisers placement on the New on PlanetEdu section with newly added Sponsored Search Results for new and existing listings, as well as newly added listings. PlanetEdu does not charge its advertisers for the displays generated while featured in the New on PlanetEdu section.
Most Popular Searches
The Most Popular Searches are the most searched keyword search terms in a particular category. They are displayed under the search box at the top of each category page. Most Popular Searches are updated based on the performance for any one-keyword search, within that category, for the last 30 days. Please note that Pay-Per-Display charges apply.
Suggested Searches
The Suggested Searches are keyword search terms relating to the users search criteria. The Suggested Searches are displayed under the search box at the top of each search results page. Please note that Pay-Per-Display charges apply.
Site Map
The Site Map page on PlanetEdu presents the most popular subjects/fields of work and destinations for each category. Users are able to perform searches by clicking on the subjects/fields of work or destinations links shown on the page. Please note that Pay-Per-Display charges apply.
Category Search
A category search is performed when a user enters a keyword search and selects a particular category from the drop-down menu in the search box. If a user enters a keyword search from a category page or search results page then that particular category is searched by default, unless the user selects a different category. PlanetEdu provides the option to bid on keywords for a particular category or for all categories.
All Categories Search
An all categories search is performed when a user enters a keyword search from the home page. A user can also perform an all categories search from category or search result pages by selecting the "All Categories" option from the drop-down menu in the search box. An all categories search delivers search results from all categories on PlanetEdu. PlanetEdu provides the option to bid on keywords for a particular category or for all categories.
Home Page
The PlanetEdu home page provides an overall presentation of what PlanetEdu offers to the user. All educational categories are presented along with the top two searched keywords in that category. PlanetEdu's partners are also presented with a link to their website. Please see the Partnerships page to learn more. The New on PlanetEdu listings are also present on the home page. Account Management System (AMS)
The AMS is designed to enable advertisers to insert new advertisements, manage existing advertisements, manage payment information, add keywords to advertisements, bid on keywords, run campaign reports, as well as edit account and contact information for their account.
